Ilka Drory, born in Haifa. always remembers herself holding either a pencil or a brush in her hand. She has always been drawing. In 1973, she completed her studies in Internal Design at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, and moved to the City of Abraham, BeerSheba in the Negev. Works in enamel were her first step in the arts. Within the first three years that the "Artists' Quarters" was established in Beersheba, she focused her drawings on wood in the style of Art Nouveau Stile and Eastern European. The yellow colors of the Negev Desert at the times of sunrise and sunset influenced her to draw the wild animals of the desert on gold paper. Naturally, the purity of the gold and the purity of Judaism joined with the creation of a series of Judaic pictures on gold paper which are inlaid on genuine gold leaf as well as the gilded picture frame. ![]() Email: ilkabakos@gmail.com Ilka Bakos Drory 3 Smilansky St. P.O.B. 420 Beer-Sheva The old city of Beer-Sheva ISRAEL 84103 Tel: 972-8-62 777 40 -- Fax: 972-8-62 333 18 -- Cell: 972-52-59 523 32 ![]() |
